Our History

Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence in Transportation Solutions

Ed DeVivo drove a school bus for the local operator. When the opportunity arose in 1949, Ed, along with his cousin Mike Tolomea, purchased the bus and formed D&T Transportation Company.

The 1960s brought a turning point. D&T acquired MASTCO, a seasoned transit and charter operator that started in 1924. Expanding their reach, they streamlined the name to the familiar DATTCO acronym.

The company’s ambition grew, venturing into interstate travel with used motor coaches, even serving the iconic World’s Fair!

The company purchased three used motorcoaches and provided service to the World’s Fair in New York City. Word got around that DATTCO was a small company starting to go big places reliably and consistently.

Over the next six decades, DATTCO continued to evolve and experience significant growth, adding new vehicles, new destinations, and new school bus contracts.

The firm developed into the full-service transportation company it is today by delivering travel experiences known for putting passengers first in every way.

So much has changed over the years, but our family culture and values are still the driving force of our culture. Today, DATTCO stands as a third-generation family enterprise, a pioneer in providing comprehensive transportation solutions.

As we celebrate our 100th anniversary, we honor our past, embrace the present, and look forward to a future of continued growth and innovation.
